Smith’s close relationship with Toshiba Machine, now under the name of Shibaura Machine, has enabled him to influence product updates – as well as the creation of new robots – throughout the years. This has included anything from end of arm tooling, robot mechanical structures, and new controllers the European market. He has also advised Shibaura Machine on new markets to enter, raising the company’s profile around the world.

Doug Dalgliesh, Business Development Manager
As business development manager, Doug Dalgliesh is responsible for managing and developing TM Robotics’ North American distribution network.
Prior to TM Robotics, Dalgliesh was an independent distributor for a global automation solutions manufacturer, where he introduced the company’s line of industrial automation controls to distributors, OEMs and end users in the U.S. market. Before that, Dalgliesh was vice president and general manager of a North American master distributor of intelligent machinery. While there, he led the company from being a virtually non-existent player to becoming one of the top assembly robot suppliers in the market, selling through a distribution network he built from the ground up.
Additionally, he was vice president of sales at a regional provider of industrial automation solutions. In that position, he redirected the company’s focus from a traditional fluid power distributor to an automation products supplier, driving significant growth in sales.
